More Slavic Favorites at the Festival
Our Orlando Slavic food festival menu goes far beyond the classics. Come hungry and discover authentic dishes from across the Slavic world:
- Borscht — the iconic ruby-red beet soup, slow-simmered with cabbage and herbs and served with a swirl of sour cream and a slice of garlic bread.
- Vareniki & Pierogi — soft half-moon dumplings stuffed with potato, cheese, cabbage, or sweet cherries, pan-finished in butter and onions.
- Golubtsi — tender cabbage rolls wrapped around savory meat and rice, baked in a rich tomato sauce.
- Blini — thin, delicate crepes served with sour cream, jam, honey, or a generous spoonful of caviar.
- Draniki — crispy golden potato pancakes, fried to order and served with sour cream.
- Pirozhki — warm hand-held baked buns filled with potato, cabbage, meat, or apple. Perfect to eat on the go.
- Syrniki — lightly sweet farmer's-cheese pancakes, dusted with powdered sugar and topped with jam.
- Herring Under a Fur Coat — the classic layered salad of herring, beets, potato, and egg under a vivid blanket of dressing.
- Kotlety — juicy pan-fried meat patties served with buttery mashed potatoes — true home cooking.
- Medovik — the legendary honey cake: dozens of thin baked layers stacked with silky sour-cream custard.
Wash it all down with house-made kvass, fruity kompot or mors, a glass of honey medovukha (21+), or a steaming cup of tea poured from a traditional samovar. The Slavic feast is calling.
